What starts off with a thought can soon become a thing,
You know when it transforms - because it starts to sing.
You know the time is right, because there is no doubt,
Congruence is the final straw when ideas start to shout.
Before ideas have come and gone and I chose not to act,
This brings disillusionment - I know this for a fact.
With all the laws of averages the day would surely come,
When I'd have faith in one idea and get up off my bum.
What brought about this change in me? It wasn't just one thing,
I'd taken many tiny steps to see what they would bring,
Through many little changes, the day would soon arrive,
When I'd wake up one morning and feel totally alive.
One doesn't know when this will happen, or the time or place,
The key was starting every day by getting on my case,
And then one day it hit me - whilst out of the rat race,
I'd found myself in paradise - Zakynthos was the place.
Real - i - zation, by Adam Shaw
Last year I was asked by my aunt to look after her house and pets in Zakynthos, while she visited the UK. This involved walking her dog daily, feeding the dog and 3 cats, and relaxing in the beautiful surroundings of Zakynthos.
Staying with me were my friends, Kelly, and Chris. Each of us were at a stage in our lives where changes needed to be made but the path ahead was uncertain. With each new day we walked down the mountain that we stayed on, to the harbour at the bottom.
Due to the nature of the mountain and its many goat tracks, there was no obvious path down, just many less defined routes of differing difficulty to negotiate. This provided an interesting challenge and a change of scenery each day. Although most paths were relatively easy to negotiate, there were greatly contrasting levels of difficulty on different paths.
Through these walks we found that the person leading the way would always take a path that reflected the level of difficulty of their current life challenge. As questions were presented to them, the path responded accordingly.
This fusion of this challenge and the beauty of the area made each experience particularly potent. In the evening we would sit and reflect upon our findings during our walks. This part of the process proved to be equally useful in highlighting learnings and planning the route forward in our respective lives.
One day I woke up and looked out of the window. Whilst England was hit by high winds and snow, I looked at my view of the natural beauty of the mountain that I was on, leading down to the crystal-clear sea. At that moment I decided that this was what I wanted in my life. It looked good and felt great. At that moment I knew that my life was about to change. I had no idea how but I knew that it would involve Zakynthos.
Kelly and I returned to Zakynthos just after Easter this year, to undergo our programme and see where it led us. With no idea of how we were going to set up or advertise these workshops, we were in a perfect situation for the technique to work.
We kept journals, walked many miles and discussed the way forward for ourselves. We are both treading new tracks now, outside of our comfort zones. We have a big vision for Walk Innovation, which you will find on our goals page. Now it's time to put action to our words and make it a reality.
Such was the impact of this process that I have now decided to teach it to others. It is simple enough to teach in an hour, yet complex enough to spend a lifetime understanding what is possible with it. Our path into a new life of self discovery has begun. The question is - Has yours?
Our aim is to teach as many people as possible about the methods that we have discovered and generate an atmosphere of nurturing, rapid self-awareness and relaxation. In providing this it enables individuals to slow down their pace, speeding up insights into what they need to do to improve their lives exponentially.
Another of our missions is to involve local services, where possible, to provide food and inside information for our experiences.
The formula is simple. We provide a beautiful location in nature and you get to share in an experience designed to nurture insight, self-connection, fun and friendship.
In July I ran my first ever Walk Innovation workshop, at the Earth-Spirit Center, near Glastonbury. The venue is perfect for the process and it allows people to experience the process within the UK. Our goal is to let people know how powerful this is.
We also aim to provide the experience of a lifetime, whilst supporting local communities and enjoying the environment.
